tamr uses a few cookies and browser storage to sign you in, keep guest chats working and, only if you agree, measure usage and run ads. This page lists them.

We use our own consent banner, not a third-party tool. It offers three categories: necessary, analytics and marketing. Necessary cookies always run because the service does not work without them. Analytics and marketing load only after you accept them.

Remembers your choices. Necessary. Kept for 6 months, after which we ask again.

Necessary

tamr sign-in session
Keeps restaurant users signed in. Cookie names start with tamr. The session itself is stored on our servers and lasts up to 30 days.
tamr.diner
HttpOnly, 1 year. Links a guest's visits to the same restaurant menu and chat.
tamr.forget
HttpOnly, 1 year. Holds a secret token that proves the guest owns their profile, so only they can use "Forget me" to delete it. We store only a hash of the token.
Cloudflare Turnstile
Bot check on the guest chat. Cloudflare may set its own necessary cookies.

tamr does not set a separate CSRF cookie.

Analytics

Only with your consent.

PostHog
Product analytics, EU region, sent through tamr.link. Uses cookies and localStorage. Without consent, PostHog only counts page views in memory, with no cookies, and forgets them when you reload.
Sentry session replay
Records how a page behaved so we can fix bugs. Text and form inputs are masked and images and media are blocked.
Browser fingerprint (guests)
FingerprintJS recognises a returning guest. It is stored only as a keyed pseudonym.

Meta Pixel (tamr)
On tamr's own marketing pages, to measure our advertising.

Restaurant pixels

A restaurant can add its own tracking to its menu. These load only on the restaurant's own address (restaurant.tamr.link) and only after you accept marketing cookies there:

  • Meta Pixel
  • Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager
  • TikTok Pixel
  • Snap Pixel

If you accept a restaurant's marketing pixels, we may also create the keyed browser fingerprint described above. The restaurant and the ad platform decide what those pixels collect. [Lawyer to confirm: responsibility split between tamr, the restaurant and ad platforms]

Changing your choice

Open Cookie settings in the footer to change or withdraw your consent at any time. You can also clear cookies in your browser, which will show the banner again. More about how we handle data is in our privacy policy.
