These terms govern the use of tamr — the conversational menu and operator dashboard at tamr.link and tamr.app — by restaurants and the people who run them. By creating an account or otherwise using tamr, you agree to them.
1. The agreement
These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding contract between you and Abiroot SARL covering your access to and use of tamr. If you're accepting these Terms on behalf of a company or other entity — for example, a restaurant — you confirm that you have the authority to bind that entity, and "you" in these Terms means both you personally and the entity.
If you don't agree to any part of these Terms, don't use tamr.
2. Who we are
tamr is operated by Abiroot SARL, a limited liability company incorporated in Lebanon. tamr is a product of Abiroot SARL, not a separate legal entity. References in these Terms to "tamr", "we", "us", or "our" mean Abiroot SARL operating the tamr service.
You can reach us at [email protected].
3. Who can use tamr
You may use tamr if all of the following are true:
- You are at least 18 years old (or the age of legal majority where you live, whichever is higher).
- You operate, or are authorised to act on behalf of, a legitimate hospitality business (restaurant, café, bar, hotel restaurant, food hall, or similar).
- Your use of tamr complies with the laws that apply to you and to your business.
- You have not previously been suspended or removed from tamr.
tamr is not built for, and is not marketed to, individual consumers as end-user diners — diners interact with tamr indirectly, through a restaurant's menu.
4. Your account
You sign in using a passwordless magic link or a one-time verification code sent to your email. Keep the email address on your account current, and don't share access with anyone who isn't authorised to act for your restaurant.
You are responsible for everything done under your account, including by people you grant access to. If you suspect unauthorised use, email [email protected] immediately.
We may suspend or close any account that violates these Terms, that we reasonably suspect is being used to harm tamr or anyone else, or that is dormant for a long period after we've given you notice.
5. What the service includes
tamr provides:
- A conversational menu surface accessible to diners via QR code or link.
- An AI waiter that answers diner questions about your menu in their language.
- An owner dashboard showing dishes, branches, menus, dietary signals, conversation patterns, and operational analytics.
- Tools to ingest your menu (from PDF, photo, URL, or manual entry), publish it, and update it.
- Transactional email (sign-in, verification, billing, service notices).
We're constantly improving tamr. We may add, change, or remove features, and we'll try to give you reasonable notice for changes that materially reduce what you can do.
6. Plans, billing, refunds
Free trial
Every new restaurant gets the first month of any plan free, without entering a payment method. If you don't actively subscribe before day 31, the workspace pauses — your data isn't deleted, but the diner-facing menu stops serving until you start a paid plan.
Paid plans
Prices, included usage ("credits"), and feature lists for each plan are published on tamr.link. Plans are billed monthly or annually in advance, in the currency shown at checkout. tamr does not charge per transaction, per cover, or per diner.
Usage and overage
Each plan includes a monthly allowance of credits (roughly one credit per engaged diner session). If you exceed the included allowance, tamr may offer a top-up at the rate published on the pricing page. We won't silently overcharge — you'll be notified when you approach your limit.
Taxes
Prices are stated exclusive of VAT and any other taxes unless explicitly noted. Where we are required to collect tax, it will be added at checkout.
Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel any time from the owner dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you keep access until then. We don't pro-rate refunds for partial periods on monthly plans. Annual plans are non-refundable except where required by law, or at our discretion in exceptional cases.
Price changes
We may change prices for a future billing period with at least 30 days' notice by email. If you don't agree, you can cancel before the change takes effect; otherwise the new price applies from the next renewal.
7. Acceptable use
Don't use tamr to:
- Publish a menu for a business that is illegal, fraudulent, or that you do not operate or represent.
- Misrepresent ingredients, allergens, or dietary properties in a way you know to be inaccurate.
- Upload menu content you don't have the right to use (someone else's photography, copyrighted copy, etc.).
- Probe, scrape, reverse-engineer, or attempt to circumvent the technical limits of the service.
- Send unsolicited messages, spam, or abusive content through tamr.
- Use tamr in a way that infringes anyone's rights, breaks any law, or interferes with other users.
We may remove content and suspend accounts that violate this section, at our discretion and without refund.
8. Your content and allergen accuracy
Everything you put into tamr — menus, dish names, descriptions, prices, allergen tags, dietary labels, photos, branch details, opening hours, the AI waiter's persona configuration — is your content. You keep ownership of it. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, process, display, transmit, translate, and otherwise use that content strictly as needed to operate the tamr service for you.
You are responsible for the accuracy of that content. In particular:
You warrant that the allergen, ingredient, and dietary information you publish through tamr is accurate and kept up to date. The AI waiter relies entirely on what you tell it. If a dish you've tagged "gluten-free", "nut-free", "vegan", "halal", or similar in fact contains an excluded ingredient — whether through a recipe change, a sourcing change, cross-contamination in your kitchen, or any other reason — you are responsible. You agree to update your menu in tamr promptly when ingredients or preparation methods change.
tamr is a presentation and conversation layer. It is not, and does not claim to be, a substitute for direct verbal confirmation between a diner and your floor staff for serious allergies or medical dietary requirements. The diner-facing surface and the AI waiter include language encouraging diners with severe allergies to confirm with staff, but ultimate responsibility for what is served — and how it is described — rests with you.
9. The AI waiter
The AI waiter is powered by third-party large-language-model providers (currently OpenAI and Anthropic). Its responses are generated based on (a) the menu and configuration you publish, and (b) the conversation the diner is having with it.
You acknowledge that:
- AI-generated text can occasionally be inaccurate, incomplete, or unexpected, even when the underlying menu is correct.
- tamr puts guardrails in place to keep the AI waiter on-topic and grounded in your menu, but no guardrail is perfect.
- You are responsible for reviewing the persona, tone, and any custom instructions you configure for your AI waiter, and for the diner experience that results.
We may temporarily disable or limit AI features to protect the integrity of the service — for example, during an incident at one of our model providers, or to mitigate abuse.
10. Intellectual property
tamr — including the platform, the software, the brand, the design system, the dashboards, the marketing site, and all related materials — is the intellectual property of Abiroot SARL. These Terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to access and use tamr while these Terms are in force; they don't grant you any other rights in our intellectual property.
You retain all rights in the content you publish through tamr (see section 8).
If you give us feedback — suggestions, ideas, bug reports — we can use it freely without obligation to you.
11. Privacy
How we handle personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using tamr you also accept the Privacy Policy.
12. No warranties
tamr is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by Lebanese law, we disclaim all warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, and uninterrupted availability.
We do not warrant that tamr will be error-free, that defects will be corrected, that the service will be available at any particular time or location, or that the AI waiter's output will be accurate or suitable for any particular purpose. You use tamr at your own risk.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Lebanese law:
- Abiroot SARL will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages — including loss of profits, loss of business, loss of goodwill, loss of data, or loss of opportunity — arising out of or related to your use of tamr, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
- Our total aggregate liability arising out of or related to these Terms and your use of tamr, regardless of the legal theory, will not exceed the greater of (i) the total fees you have actually paid to us for the service in the twelve months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, and (ii) one hundred United States dollars (USD 100).
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
14. Indemnification
You will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Abiroot SARL, its affiliates, and their respective directors, officers, employees, and agents from and against any third-party claim, demand, loss, damage, fine, cost, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to:
- your content published through tamr (including any allergen, ingredient, or dietary inaccuracy);
- your breach of these Terms;
- your violation of any law or third-party right;
- any dispute between you and a diner, an employee, or another third party related to your use of tamr.
We'll let you know promptly if a claim of this kind is made, and we'll co-operate reasonably with your defence at your expense.
15. Term and termination
These Terms apply from the moment you first access tamr and continue until ended by you or by us.
You can end them
By cancelling your subscription (if any) and ceasing to use the service. Cancellation effects are described in section 6.
We can end them
By giving you reasonable notice for convenience, or immediately if:
- you materially breach these Terms and don't fix the breach within a reasonable period after we ask;
- your use of tamr threatens its integrity, security, or legality;
- continuing to provide the service to you would require us to breach the law.
What survives
Sections 8 (Content), 10 (IP), 12 (No warranties), 13 (Liability), 14 (Indemnification), 17 (Law and disputes), 18 (General), and any payment obligations already accrued, survive the end of these Terms.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll always post the current version at this URL with the updated "Last updated" date. For material changes — anything affecting your rights, our liability, fees, or how disputes are handled — we'll give you at least 30 days' advance notice by email to the address on your account. Continuing to use tamr after the change takes effect means you accept the new Terms; if you don't, you can cancel before then.
17. Governing law and disputes
These Terms, and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them, are governed by the laws of the Republic of Lebanon, without reference to its conflict-of-law principles.
The competent courts of Beirut have exclusive jurisdiction to resolve any dispute, except that either party may seek interim or injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction to protect its intellectual property or confidential information.
Before starting formal proceedings, we ask that you contact us at [email protected] so we can try to resolve the matter directly.
18. General
- Entire agreement. These Terms (together with the Privacy Policy and any plan-specific terms you accept at checkout) make up the entire agreement between you and us about tamr, and supersede any earlier agreement.
- Severability. If a court finds part of these Terms unenforceable, the rest remains in force.
- No waiver. If we don't enforce a right, we haven't waived it.
- Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our written consent. We may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
- Force majeure. Neither party is liable for delay or failure caused by events outside its reasonable control (natural disasters, war, civil disturbance, infrastructure failures, acts of government).
- Language. The English version of these Terms is the controlling version. Translations are provided for convenience only.
