Free restaurant tools for pricing and publishing your menu
Three free restaurant tools from tamr: a menu price calculator, a menu engineering matrix and a PDF to QR code generator. Each one does a single job, works on your phone and needs no sign-up. Pick the one that fits what you are doing today.
Price each dish first, then compare the dishes with each other, then put the finished menu on the table. You can use any one of them on its own, and none of them needs a tamr account.

What free restaurant tools does tamr have?
Three. The menu price calculator turns ingredient costs into a menu price and a food cost percentage. The menu engineering matrix sorts your dishes into stars, plowhorses, puzzles and dogs. The PDF to QR code generator turns a hosted PDF menu into a printable code.
Are the tools really free?
Yes. Each tool is free to use as often as you like, with no sign-up, no email and no card. You do not need a tamr account, and you do not need to use tamr for your menu.
Do the tools save what I type?
The menu price calculator and the PDF to QR code generator run in your browser. The costs and the link you type are not sent to tamr and are not saved, so they are gone when you close the page. Keep your own copy of anything you want to use again.
Which tool should I start with?
Start with the menu price calculator if you are setting or checking prices. Once every dish has a cost and a price, the menu engineering matrix shows which dishes to promote, reprice or drop. Use the QR code generator last, when the menu is ready to go on the tables.
What is the difference between food cost and menu engineering?
Food cost looks at one dish: what its ingredients cost as a share of its price. Menu engineering looks at the whole menu and compares every dish on two things, how often it sells and how much profit each sale leaves. You need the food cost of each dish before you can do menu engineering.
