Create a waiter

Creating a profile, what customers see, and managing profiles.

A waiter profile is a bundle of settings: personality, greeting, house rules, chat features, model, and languages. You attach a profile to a menu and it starts answering. Most restaurants run one profile for everything.

Create one

From AI Waiters, select New profile. tamr creates a draft with sensible defaults: a warm tone and the built-in safety rules, and opens the editor. Nothing is live until you publish and attach it.

The name is for you, not your customers

A profile's name is an internal label only. Customers never see it. In chat they always see "the AI waiter" and a single avatar letter.

Manage profiles

Duplicatecopy
Copies a profile as a new draft named "(copy)", so you can experiment without touching the live one.
Set as defaultattach all
Attaches the profile to every menu that does not already have a waiter.
Deletepermanent
Removes the profile and its history. Menus using it lose chat until you attach another.

FAQ

How many waiters should I have?

One is plenty for most restaurants. Add more only if you want a genuinely different voice per brand or branch.

Do customers ever see the profile name I set?

No. It is an internal label. Customers always see "the AI waiter".

What are the defaults on a new profile?

A warm tone, the built-in safety rules on, and draft status. You tune the rest.
