Opportunities

How opportunities work, their types and statuses, and the acknowledge, resolve, and dismiss actions.

An opportunity is something tamr noticed across many conversations and thinks you should act on, like a dish customers keep asking for that is not on your menu. Opportunities live in the action center, opened from the Actions button in Insights.

Opportunities are patterns, not one-offs

tamr only raises an opportunity when it sees the same thing happen repeatedly. Each one carries how many times it occurred and when it was last seen, so you can judge whether it is worth acting on.

A dish customers keep asking for that you do not offer.
Common complaintquality

A question asked so often it belongs in the menu or the waiter's knowledge.

A special that is not getting the attention it should.

Triage an opportunity

Each opportunity moves through a simple status. You decide what happens to it.

Newuntriaged
Just surfaced. Flagged until you look at it.
Acknowledgedseen
You have seen it and plan to act.
Resolveddone
You fixed it.
Dismissedignored
Not relevant. Closed without action.
  1. 1
    Open the action center

In Insights, select Actions. New opportunities are flagged with a count.

  2. 2
    Acknowledge or act

On a new opportunity, choose Acknowledge to mark that you have seen it, or go straight to a fix.

  3. 3
    Resolve or dismiss

When you have handled it, select Mark resolved. If it does not apply to you, select Dismiss.

Most fixes are one click away

An allergen gap links to the dish that needs data. A recurring question links to the waiter's teaching. You rarely have to go looking for where to fix an opportunity.

FAQ

Where do opportunities come from?

They are extracted from your real conversations. As customers reveal patterns, tamr surfaces them here.

I dismissed one by mistake. Is it gone forever?

Dismissing closes an opportunity, but if the underlying pattern keeps happening, tamr can surface it again.

Do resolved opportunities affect my metrics?

The open-actions count on Pulse only includes new and acknowledged opportunities, so resolving and dismissing both clear it.
