Languages and right-to-left
The language switcher, translated interface languages, arbitrary content languages, and RTL.
Customers can read your menu and talk to the waiter in their own language. You choose which languages to offer; they pick from a switcher.

How it works for customers
- 1Open the switcher
A language control sits in the menu header. It appears when you offer more than one language.
- 2Pick a language
The whole menu and the chat re-render in the chosen language. Menu content is translated, and the interface follows.
- 3It is remembered
Their choice is saved for your restaurant, so returning or opening another of your menus keeps the same language.

When a customer chooses Arabic or another right-to-left language, the entire menu and chat lay out right-to-left, including the chat drawer and all panels. Reading order, buttons, and icons all mirror correctly.
What you control
You set the menu's source language and its served languages on the menu's Design tab. The switcher is built from that list, and the first language is the default. See design and branding →.
FAQ
Do I have to translate the menu myself?
No. You choose the languages to serve, and tamr translates the content. You only set the source language and the served list.
A customer's language isn't one of the translated interface languages. What happens?
The menu content still shows in their language; the interface labels fall back to English.
Why don't I see a language switcher on my menu?
It only appears when you serve more than one language. Add languages on the Design tab.
